On December 9th, TIP of NW Florida welcomed its last graduating class of 2017 into the family. We say, family because that’s what it means to be part of this organization. For the last 20+ years, TIP of NW Florida has provided emotional support to our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but we also provide emotional support to one another.
While we volunteers aid people who aren’t prepared to deal with the emotional fallout of a traumatic event, sometimes those same scenes or events can stick with us. That’s where our TIP family comes in handy. We work together to ensure that we can talk out any issues that we may face as a result of a call so that we are good to go for the next time we are needed.
Sharing such a bond has made it so that we not only work together, but we laugh and play together as well—family.
To the eight (8) new volunteers that have joined this family, thank you and again welcome. The journey you are about to embark on may not always be the easiest, but it has been one of the most rewarding and fruitful experiences that most of us have known. We look forward to serving our community with you and getting to know you better. It is because of your dedication that our organization can continue to grow and flourish. You may have signed up to be a “citizen helping citizens” but you’re now a family member helping our community.
